About Avila Valley Retreat

Our Story

After living in Avila for more than 25 years, I wanted to create a place that captures everything I love about the Central Coast—easy days, beautiful surroundings, and time well spent with the people who matter most. Avila Valley Retreat was designed for moments worth celebrating, whether that’s a graduation, a long-overdue getaway, or a few perfect days that start at the beach and end under the stars.

Set on three private acres, the retreat offers rare seclusion while still being just ten minutes from the coast, wineries, and nearby towns. I love that balance—close to everything, yet feeling completely tucked away.

The home is newly built with a modern, open design that’s meant to be both elegant and welcoming. A heated pool, jacuzzi, and barrel sauna invite you to slow down, while the orange grove and landscaped grounds create space for outdoor dinners, laughter, and unhurried evenings. Every detail was chosen with comfort, beauty, and ease in mind, so you can settle in quickly and simply enjoy your time here.

My hope is that you leave feeling refreshed, connected, and already thinking about your next visit—because the best stays aren’t just about where you go, but how the time feels while you’re there.

Avila Beach at Sunset.

Avila Beach

Avila Beach is one of California’s oldest coastal communities, with roots stretching back to the early 1800s. Originally a small port serving nearby ranches and missions, the area grew around its natural harbor and mild climate. Over time, Avila became known as a quiet seaside escape—cherished for its protected cove, sunny weather, and laid-back charm.

Today, Avila Beach blends its historic character with a refined coastal lifestyle. Visitors come for the beach, hot springs, waterfront dining, and relaxed pace that still feels untouched by time. It’s a place where mornings begin slowly, afternoons stretch out, and sunsets remain the main event.

San Luis Obispo

San Luis Obispo was founded in 1772 with the establishment of Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa, making it one of California’s earliest communities. The town grew as a center for agriculture, education, and culture along the Central Coast, shaped by rolling hills, fertile valleys, and a strong sense of community.Often referred to as “SLO,” the city is now known for its vibrant downtown, historic architecture, thriving food and wine scene, and connection to Cal Poly University. San Luis Obispo offers the perfect balance of small-town warmth and modern sophistication—an anchor for the Central Coast lifestyle that visitors quickly fall in love with.

Together, Avila Beach and San Luis Obispo offer a rare mix of history, natural beauty, and easy living—making the area an ideal place to slow down, celebrate, and enjoy the moment.
